TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN EDUCATIONAL MANAGEMENT OF PRIVATE UNDERGRADUATE COLLEGES IN CHINA
Abstract
Against the background of standardized transformation and high-quality development of China's private higher education, teacher professional development quality is crucial to private undergraduate institutions' operation and educational efficacy, while scientific educational management impacts faculty stability and professionalism. Different from public universities, private universities adopt enterprise-like faculty management, leading to prominent problems for teachers such as vague professional identity, limited development paths and fragmented management support, which hinder their professional growth and school quality improvement. Based on human capital theory and career development stage theory, this paper combines private universities' operational characteristics and teacher professional development laws, identifies key challenges, and proposes innovative strategies from policy, professional platform and cultural support aspects, aiming to provide actionable references for promoting faculty sustainable development and private higher education high-quality development.
