DEVELOPING A PROJECT-BASED LEARNING PLATFORM EMPOWERED WITH GENERATIVE AI AND A GAMIFICATION ENVIRONMENT TO PROMOTE CREATIVE DIGITAL MEDIA PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES

Abstract


This study was conducted as research and development (R&D) with the objectives to 1) develop a learning management platform based on a project-based learning model enhanced by Generative AI and integrated with a gamification environment (PjBLAI-Gami Model), and 2) evaluate the quality of the developed platform. The target group consisted of 10 experts, divided into two groups: five experts for content evaluation and five experts for evaluating instructional management. The research instruments included a learning management platform developed on the Discord application, integrating Generative AI tools and gamification mechanisms. The data analysis employed descriptive statistics, including mean and standard deviation, as well as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to assess acceptance and usability. The research findings revealed that 1) the developed platform featured a structure that supported a five-step digital media creation process, integrating AI as a supportive tool and employing gamification mechanisms to enhance learner motivation; 2) expert evaluations indicated that the platform demonstrated the highest level of quality and appropriateness in both content and instructional management techniques; and 3) the results of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) showed that the platform was effective and ready for implementation in subsequent phases of research.
