Abstract

In the context of the rapid development of China's railway network and the deepening of intelligent transformation, the Beijing Railway Bureau faces the critical task of improving management efficiency while ensuring safe and stable operations. Equipment status, compliance operations, and policy factors are critical elements affecting railway management efficiency, and artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as an important mediating force in optimizing their interactive relationships. This study explores the impact of these factors on railway management efficiency, with a focus on the mediating role of AI. A mixed-methods research design was adopted, utilizing a questionnaire survey of 739 employees and semi-structured interviews with 20 key informants. The results indicate that equipment status, compliance operations, and policy factors have significant positive impacts on railway management efficiency. Furthermore, AI plays a significant mediating role, effectively amplifying the positive effects of these antecedent factors.
