การคัดเลือกข่าวจากคลิปวิดีโอในโซเชียลมีเดีย เพื่อนำเสนอในรายการข่าวโทรทัศน์
Abstract
This research aimed to study roles of mass media in selecting online video clips; to study factors affecting the clips selection; and to study mass media codes of ethics in selecting clips to present on television news programs. Data was collected by conducting in-depth interviews with six personnel, working in news divisions of six digital television news stations, who were involving in online video clips selection to present on news programs. Qualitative research approach was applied in analyzing data.
The findings revealed that, in digital age, mass media had to act as gate opener to connect audience and the media besides being just a gatekeeper as in the past. Moreover, media had to analyze the situation, as well as refer to reliable sources, insert valuable knowledge, and set agenda for society, not just to present the clips. Factors affecting clip selection were interest and appropriateness of the content, plus the chance to expand the agenda of the clip. Above all else, clip selection had to stand on media’s codes of ethics by paying attention to truth, objectivity, impartiality, and violation of personal rights.
