Abstract

An application of geo-information technology for optimizing CBT route in loei province Thailand is to explore and collect community base tourist information, analyze the routes of tourist base sites, communities, and set the appropriate routes of Loei’stourist base sites by the application of Geo-Information Technology This includes Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS) and Remote Sensing (RS). How to explore and find community attractions using GPS to determine the coordinates of tourist attractions.Themethods to explore and find community base tourism are used by GPS to determine the coordinates of tourist attractions.From the survey of community base tourism, there are 66 communities were divided in 4 types: 25 historical sites, 3 cultural sites, and 7 ecological sites. After that, we make the routes of the community base tourism by the Network Analysis to find the shortest routes with using Landsat 8 satellite imagery to be a basic mapping illustration. This study has presented 3 routes for the community base tourism, e.g. the 1^st route 1, paying homage to the monks - following the path of the monk. - rafting the HuaiKrathong with a total distance of 123.3 kilometers in 1.38 hours, the 2^nd route, walking along the banks of the Mekong – Chiang Kan life style – enjoying the view at PhuLamduan with a total distance of 174.3 km in 2.28 hours, and the 3^rd route, the natural variety – Ta Phi Ta Khon land – enjoy the view of Thailand’s Sakura with a total distance of 180.37 km in 2.22 hours.
